Bonnie's Journey to Fitness

It might be hard, but I'm proving it can be done at any age.

This may be my battle, but I’m not alone!

Today I learned an important lesson.  The final weigh-in for the TWR Biggest Loser competition is Saturday.  I am working out with my trainers every day this week, and today was day 2.  I went in with vim and vigor and then I let that natural competitiveness take over.  And when I struggled trying to keep up with the 2 gals I was training with (both probably a good 20-30 years younger than me), I got frustrated with myself and almost shut down.

Thank goodness I had Ron, who pulled me aside and asked what was up and than let me fume a bit, but yet pushed me to go further.  And than DB, who saw me struggle, encouraged me to keep going and not give up.

Once home, and feeling like a hard-headed pissant, a very wise man … Marc … who also trains at TWR told me that he never can keep up with the people he trains with, but he doesn’t care …. as long as he gets through it.  That’s the attitude I need.  I have to find a way to tune everyone else out and just push through it.

So the lesson I learned … this may be my own personal battle to lose weight, but with my trainers (and friends) Ron, DB & Matt, along with friendships I’ve developed at TWR, like Marc … I am not alone.  If you are on your own personal journey to become fit and gain control of your health … I hope you are able to surround yourself with those that will support and encourage you.

Tomorrow I will approach my workout with a clear head and with stronger determination - not to win, but to finish.

And the journey continues.
